He was predeceased by: his parents, William Felton and Margaret J. Hickman Simmons; and his siblings, Calvin Ray Simmons, Hazel Darlene and Sue Gail.

He is survived by: his wife Zoila Simmons; his children, William Glenn Simmons, Michael Wayne Simmons (Darlyne), Troy Lee Simmons and Jeannie Lorraine Trussell (Charles, Sr.); his stepchildren, Stanley Herrera (Loni), Ernesto Herrera (Rachael), Walter Herrera (Gracie), Joshua Herrera (Maria) and Roxana Herrera; and his sister Linda Carol Garrett. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
