He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Hurst and Margaret Lorena Adair Fortenberry; and his son-in-law Wayne Blount. He is survived by: his wife Julia "Judy" Ross Fortenberry of Lone Oak; his children, James Fortenberry, Jr. (Leah) of Greenville, Lynn Blount of Denison and Julie Myers (Ray) of Plano; his sisters, Mary Lee Dooley of Lone Oak, Betty Jo Moore (Charles) of Lone Oak and Margaret McMillan of Sachse; his grandchildren, Jill Bergin (Chris), Anna Petty (Robert), Katie Blount, John Ross Myers, Drew Myers, Brooke Myers, Maggie Fortenberry and Jenna Fortenberry; and his great grandchildren, Anderson, Madelyn, Tori and Nick. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
