He was predeceased by: his parents, John Swanson and Arminta Swanson (Roundtree); his sons, John Andrew Swanson and Bert Swanson; and his siblings, Rusty Swanson, Alvia Vernon Swanson, Louellor Hassell, Ada May Fulcher, Gloria Sweet Pea Swanson, Delzia Lee Stanley and Loria Lodo McMahan.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Swanson; his daughter Wanda Hammond; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Mundy, Christy Hammond (Greg Newman) and Jonathon Hammond (Lillie); and his great grandchildren, Lylith Powell, Lyteah Whatley, Luron Whatley and Amelia Hammond.
