He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Hagel and Florence Myers; his daughter Melissa Hagel; his sister Florence; his brother-in-law Pat Rooney; his niece Cheryl Rooney; and his brother Edward Hagel.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Hagel; his brother Gary Hagel (Celeste); his daughters, Theresa Masterson and Deborah Wilson; and his son-in-law Douglas Wilson. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.
