He was predeceased by: his parents, Felix Mendoza and San Juana Mendoza; his wife Margarita Mendoza; and his daughter-in-law Hilda Mendoza. He is survived by: his sons, Alonzo Mendoza Jr. of Levelland, Alfonso Mendoza (Virginia) of Ozona and David Mendoza of Levelland; his grandchildren, Jeannette Regino (Florencio) of Seminole, Alex Mendoza (Stephanie) of Garland, Jerome Mendoza of Plano, Manuel Alvidrez (Daisey) of Pheonix, Karen Saragosa (Antonio) of Levelland, Jesus Mendoza of Levelland and Javier Mendoza of Texas; and his siblings, Felix Mendoza of Temple, Ruth Alexander of Buffalo Lake, Lydia Saenz of Lubbock, Amalia Medina of Levelland and Norma Mendoza of Levelland. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
