She was predeceased by: her parents, Gumencindo Sapien and Manuela Sapien (Longoria); her brother Selestino Sapien; and her nephew Tony Sapien. She is survived by: her close friend Anna Bell; and her siblings, Ines Sapien of Terrell, Joe Sapien of Lampasas, Daniel Sapien of Terrell and Frances Arzola of Kelso, Washington.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations are invited to be made in Della's honor to Best Friends Animal Society.
