He is survived by: his children, Katherine Gallegos Ortiz, Veronica Gallegos and Gabriel Andres Gallegos; his stepdaughters, Debra Martinez and Jacqueline Osuna; his siblings, Theresa Jimenez, Maria Leal, Mary Lou Gallegos, Paulina Gonzales, Rosalinda Thummalapalli, Roberto Gallegos, Frank Gallegos and Louis Gallegos; his brother-in-law Ernest Leal, Sr.; his sons-in-law, Adam Ortiz and Gabriel Mejia; his friends, Domingo Palomo and Norman Borth; and his nephew Mike Cantu. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
