James D. Witherspoon Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 20, 2025, at the age of 95, James D. Witherspoon of Hurst, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Witherspoon (Taylor); and his daughter Susan Phillips. He is survived by: his father Clyde Witherspoon; his wife Shirley Witherspoon (Hatter) of Hurst Texas; his daughter Deborah Goza of Ft Worth; his nieces, Beverly Clements of Ft Worth and Sharon Smith of Killeen, Texas; his grandson Shannon Phillips (Lisa) of Houston, Texas; his friends, Randy Schaffner (Vicki) of Tyler Texas and Mark Schaffner (Beth) of Temple Texas; and his pet Mollie. He is also survived by three great grandchildren and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Lucas Funeral Home (1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park (5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034).
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church of Hurst, Texas.
