It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marie Therese Romain in Houston, Texas, born in Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ita Stemmann and Raoul Stemmann Sr.; her husband Herman Romain; and her siblings, Raoul Stemmann Jr. (Mercy), Father Joe Stemmann, Preston Stemmann, Maydel Trainor (Francis), Nellie Dean (John) and Mabel Ezernack (Francis).
She is survived by: her children, Melissa Romain-Harrott (Wesley Harrott) and Byron Romain (Staci Lowman); her grandchildren, Sophia Romain, Oscar Romain, Clare Romain and Charlotte Romain; and her sister-in-law Connie Stemmann. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, godchildren and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brookside Funeral Home - Champions (3410 Cypress Creek Pkwy, Houston, TX 77068). A prayer was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Edwards Catholic Church (2601 Spring Stuebner Rd, Spring, TX 77389). A committal service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
