He was predeceased by: his parents, Benson Knox and Pearl Knox; his wife Mary Francis Erwin (Myrt); his daughter Donna Francis Knox; and his brothers, Mike and Charles.
He is survived by: his sons, David (Sherrie) of Hillsboro and Tom (Lucy) of Maypearl; his grandchildren, Brian, Mandi, Becky, Robbie, Jason and Chris; and his great grandchildren, Autumn, Ethan, Issac, Cole, Elizabeth, Zachary, Corbin, Taylor, Brinley and Audree. He is also survived by three sons.
