He was predeceased by: his parent Floyd Smalley; and his brother Glenn Smalley. He is survived by: his parent Dorotha Smalley (Wilt); his wife Diane Smalley (Starkey); his children, Ronald Smalley (Norma) of New Vienna, Bryan Krannitz of Hillsboro, John Krannitz of Hillsboro, Kevin Krannitz (Brook) of Lynchburg, Jennifer Slagle (Gary) of Wilmington, Melinda Baird (Darrell) of Wilmington, Suzanne Novak (Dan) of Florida and Suzanne Runk (Matt) of Sabina; his grandchildren, Briana Baird, Lillian Krannitz, Jason Slagle, Jacob Krannitz, Phoebe Krannitz, Jake Krannitz, Josie Runk, Lukas Runk, Cole Krannitz, Seth Krannitz, Reed Krannitz, Sara Krannitz and Liam Krannitz; and his sisters, Sarah Goodwin of Perry and Sue Partack of Amelia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
