With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfredo Fernandez Barrera Sr. of Hereford, Texas, who passed away on July 16, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Barrera and Carmen Barrera; his wife Virginia Mendoza (Vicky); his parents-in-law, Antonio and Ruperta Mendoza; his children, Carmen Barrera and Eric Barrera; his granddaughters, Amanda Castro and Victoria Peña; his siblings-in-law, Anselmo and Elvira Gonzales; and his siblings, Tomas Barrera, Olga Elena Bravo and Rebeca Ruiz.
He is survived by: his children, Alfredo Barrera, Jr. (Marisa) of Hereford, Texas, Imelda DeLaCerda (Ramon) of Amarillo, Texas, Thelma Elizondo (Reynaldo) of McAllen, Texas, Sandra Peña (Jerry) of Dimmitt, Texas and Cynthia Cross (Damon) of Amarillo, Texas; his nephew Francisco Bravo (Maria); his sister Carmela Salinas (Encarnacion); his goddaughter Sister Veronica Fiscal (Capuchina); and his grandchildren, Christie Barrera Peña, Christopher Barrera, Cindy Gardea, Freddy Barrera III, Saul Villarreal, Naomi Nicely, Erika Maltos, Patricia Rodriquez, Azariah DeLaCerda, Andrea Anguiano, Jessica Castro, Stephanie Saucedo, Myra Hill, Fabian Peña, JJ Peña, Carmen Peña-Sepeda, Dr. Blake Cross, Cody Cross and Isabella Cross. He is also survived by 47 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
