He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Smith. He is survived by: his children, Terri Davis (Lin) of Granbury, Sherri Moody of Haltom City, Richard Smith (Misty) of Midland and Randy Smith of Fort Worth, Texas.; and his sister Martha Tinney of Haltom City, Texas.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Fred's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
