He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Reneau and Lois Weaver Reneau; his siblings, Gene, Norman, Bill and Jane Cobb; his wife Joyce; and his son Jimmie.

He is survived by: his children, Ron Reneau of Big Sandy and Donna Best of Longview, TX; and his sister Barbara Smith of Deer Park, TX. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
