He was predeceased by: his parents, Vanno Carey and Ada Carey; his sister Ann Costilow; his brother-in-law Homer Hensley; and his stepson Cory Campbell.
He is survived by: his wife Patti Carey; his children, Knox Carey (Diana), Brooke Carey Ney (Brian) and Taylor Carey; his grandchildren, Xan Carey, Luke Deppe, Merit Deppe, Brett Ney and Emily Ney; his siblings, Jean Hensley, Rex Carey, Kent Carey (Nancy) and Betsy Pedigo (Bill); and his brother-in-law Jan Costilow. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Acton Methodist Church (3433 Fall Creek Hwy, Granbury, TX 76049).
