It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Celia Cortinas Escobedo (Goliad, Texas), born in Newgulf, Texas, who passed away on September 12, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Cleto Cortinas; her husband Jose G. Escobedo; and her siblings-in-law, Simon Escobedo, Jr., Vince Cantu and Ida Cortinas.
She is survived by: her children, Jose Luis Escobedo, Raquel E. Martinez (Marco) and Christina C. Escobedo; her siblings, David Cortinas (Lisa), Cleto Cortinas, Jr. (Sally), Jesse Cortinas, Robert Cortinas, Beatrice Edison (Raymond), Delores Mendoza (John), Joann Cortinas (Robert Mendoza), Mary Garcia (Ernesto) and Evilla Cantu; and her siblings-in-law, Albert Lopez (Elizabeth) and Argentina Pena (Eulogio). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
