He was predeceased by: his parents, V. C. Hightower and Clara Williams Hightower; his stepmother Gladyce Carpenter Hightower; and his sister Doris June Murray. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ann Hightower; his children, David Neal Hightower (Donna) and Brenda Allen (Ronnie); his sisters, Ruth Rhodes and Claedieth Hewitt; and his grandsons, Ryan Keith Allen and William David Allen.
