He was predeceased by: his brothers, Ralph "Jim" James and Bill James. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Andrew "Andy" James and Nicki Jo Slater; his son-in-law Phillip Slater; his grandson Sgt. Aaron Slater; his daughter Rachel Gafford; his grandson Ryan Gafford; and his sister LaDonna (Barry Bassford). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
It would also touch us deeply if an in-kind donation to Cypress Basin Hospice, Inc., Mt. Pleasant, TX was made as an alternative to food or flowers as well.
