She was predeceased by: her parents, John Bert and Sue Ella Dodd (Wood); her husband Robert L. Placke; her son James R. Placke; and her siblings, Effie Sweatman, Nancy Regiene, Garwood Dodd and Dan Dodd.
She is survived by: her sons, Dennis Placke (Vivian) of Lockhart and Scott Placke (Becky) of San Angelo; her daughter-in-law Robin Bunch (Jim) of Giddings; her grandchildren, Travis Placke (Courtney) of San Angelo, Garrett Placke (Michelle) of Beulah, Kyle Placke of Lockhart, Megan Placke of Lockhart, Tucker Placke (Gayle) of Ft. Bragg, Lindy Placke of Lynchberg, Deke Placke of San Angelo and Teagan Placke of San Angelo; her great grandchildren, James Robert Placke of San Angelo, Bailey Placke of San Angelo, Eli Placke of Beulah, Kaylee Placke of Beulah and Ember Placke of Ft. Bragg; her sisters, Marguerite Lawrence of Giddings, Brennice Koether of Giddings and Dorothy Koenig of Ledbetter; and her sisters-in-law, Callie Roark (John) of Belton and Texene Placke of Giddings. She is also survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Sue Marie Placke, 87, of Giddings, will be a private family gathering due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, the Placke family request that memorial contributions be made to the Dodd Family Cemetery, 1011 W. Live Oak St., Lockhart, TX 78644 or to the Lee County Food Bank.
