It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lily Salinas of Galveston, Texas, born in Austin, Texas, who passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Florenzo J. Rodriguez and Catherina Torres Rodriguez; her husband Gilbert Salinas, Sr.; her son Gilbert Salinas, Jr.; and her siblings, Eloisa Rodriguez, Susie Salinas and Frank Rodriguez.
She is survived by: her children, Eva Rojas (Eliu Rojas, Sr.) of League City, Carla Franklin (Tim Franklin) of Galveston, Barbara Salinas of Galveston and Mark Salinas (Jennifer Johnson) of Houston; her grandchildren, Eliu Rojas, Jr. and Lisa Salinas; and her great grandchildren, Lily Rojas and Estella Olivarez. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Her parents died when she was a small child, and she was raised by the Sisters of Charity of St. Mary's in Galveston.
