She was predeceased by: her husband Oliver Grimes; her parents, Jessie Fowler and Mamie Fowler; her sons, Oliver Jr. and Howard Grimes; her siblings, E. R. Fowler, Jimmie Fowler, Elisha Fowler, Emerson Fowler, Oletha Steel and Naomi Fowler; and her great grandchild Montrell Grimes.
She is survived by: her children, Leon Grimes, Preston Grimes, Oscar Grimes, Jenevie Compton (Ronald Matthews), Karen Grimes, Mamie Grimes and Sharon Haynes; and her sister Helen Daniel of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
