He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Jackson Shearer and Emma Grace Plexco Shearer. He is survived by: his wife Anna Shearer (Peterson) of Flower Mound; his children, Emma Caroline Shearer, Madeleine Claire Shearer and Thomas Jackson Shearer; his sister Susan Shearer Baker (Benjamin Baker); his nieces and nephews, Erin Cox (Anthony), Taylor Baker and Zachary Baker; and his aunt JoAnn Johns Ebbeler (Jon). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
