He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. Carnes Sr. and Fannie Sue Carnes; and his sister Susan Elizabeth Carnes. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his sons, Michael Carnes of Floresville and Tom III (Emily Carnes) of La Vernia; his grandchildren, Martha, Michael Jr., Drake, Leslie, Ryan, Leland and Brock; his brothers, George (Michelle Carnes) of Floresville and John (Suzanne Carnes) of San Antonio; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Leonhardt, Alice Navarro of McCoy and Charles Smith (Lisa) of San Antonio. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
