He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Meerscheidt Helmke and Stanley L Helmke; his spouse Beverli Baumann Helmke; and his father-in-law Henry Baumann. He is survived by: his children, Linnci Helmke Angle (Richard Silva) and Blake Russell Helmke (Bridget Penshorn Helmke); his mother-in-law Florence Baumann; his siblings-in-law, Kimberli and Edmond Pruski; his grandchildren, Kaeden Angle, Kambri Angle, Landri Helmke, Journi Helmke, Courtney Silva Thresher, Patrick Silva and Jacob Silva; and his nieces, Tiffani Vickery (Dwayne) and Brittani Matthews (Mac). He is also survived by his family and friends.
He also lent his voice to the Floresville Opry from its inception until COVID put a halt to the shows.
