He is survived by: his son Frank Joseph Vela of San Antonio, Texas; his grandsons, Leonardo, Dominic, Able and Elija Vela; his sister Cynthia Vela Glass of Seguin; his nieces, Crystal Glass of New Braunfels and Veronica Glass (Graham Garrett) of Northford, Connecticut; his nephew Aaron Glass of San Antonio; his great-nieces, Annabelle Dufrene and Claudette Garrett; and his great-nephew John Walter Garrett.
