He was predeceased by: his parents, Griff Whiteside and Ola Mae Whiteside; his wife Wanda Whiteside; and his brothers, Jack and Don Whiteside.

He is survived by: his sons, Perry Whiteside and Timmy Whiteside; his sister Margaret Dudley; and his sisters-in-law, Kathlyn Rhine, Linda Whiteside and Donna Coker. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family, countless friends.
