It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donna Vasek of El Campo, Texas, born in Wharton, Texas, who passed away on December 5, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mozelle Blair Mathews and Thomas Jefferson Mathews. She is survived by: her husband James Vasek; her children, Christine Pratka (Brent) of El Campo, Scott Cunningham (Donna) of Wharton and James Vasek, Jr. (Rebecca) of Salado; her grandchildren, Faith Cunningham, Hope Cunningham, Kenley Vasek, Erin Vasek and Barrett Pratka; her stepfather Leonard Charles Koehne, Jr.; and her siblings, Denise Palinek, Becky Kubala (Patrick) and Thomas Mathews (Katherine). She is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Memorial donations in memory of Donna may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
