It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Ilawean Hooper of Denton, Texas, born in Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on July 17, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Margaret; her siblings, Herschel Smith Junior and Kay Battles; and her husband Arthur Thomas Hooper. She is survived by: her son Mark Hooper of Highland Village; her grandsons, Brennan Hooper (Erin) and Corey Hooper (Amie); her great grandchildren, Levi, Evie, Grace, Riley, Nolan and June Hooper; her sisters, Janet Smith and Jackie Williams; and her children, Portland, San Francisco and Davenport of Iowa.
