It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melba Shelby of De Leon, Texas, born in Waurika, Oklahoma, who passed away on May 30, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henry Wright and Viola Frances Jackson Wright; her husband Lex Shelby; and her siblings, Elmer, R. V. Wright, Reda Faye McWilliams and JoAnn Russell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheri Morgan and Jo Anne Tucker; her sister Wilma Dowell; and her grandchildren, Julie Christensen, Karen Weaver, Shelby Tucker and Christie Kent. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
