She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Peikert and Lazelle Peikert. She is survived by: her husband Sam Sparger; her children, Danny Sparger (Debbi), Cathy Morganstean, Teresa Morganstean (Chris) and Cindy Burkett (Steve); her brother Tommy Peikert (Glenda); her sister-in-law Martha Peikert; and her grandchildren, Amanda Hicks, Jesse Morganstean, Russell Morganstean, Travis Harris, Nicole Polk, Derek Sparger, Dustin Sparger, Jayde Burkett, Baylor Burkett and Landon Burkett.

“Liz was my cousin by marriage. (Sam’s mother, Sarah, and my mother, Ruth, were sisters.) I guess the last time I saw Liz was at an English family reunion in the mid-sixties. She and Sam had a few dozen of us over to their newly-built home in Grapevine/Southlake. Liz and Sam were about twenty-one at the time, but already seemed like a mature, established couple. And they appeared comfortable hosting a good-sized gathering. It’s a good memory.”
