She was predeceased by: her parents, John Eldridge and Jessie Henrietta Ivy Norton; her husband James Lester "Bud" Rachel, Sr.; and her siblings, Dorothy Norton Sebesta and Jackson Norton.
She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Kendrick of Florida, Janet Tallent of Austin, Patricia Crawford (Michael) of Louisiana, Nancy Johnson of Dayton, Judy Herndon (Kenneth) of Caldwell and James Rachel, Jr. (Tammy) of Conroe; her brothers, Jimmie Norton (Illeen) of Baytown and John Norton of Baytown; and her sister-in-law Fay Wade of Magnolia. She is also survived by her many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces, and nephews.
