He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ashley and Etta Mae Farmer Ashley; his granddaughter Zoie Nichols; and his siblings, Wayne Ashley, Richard Ashley, Gene Ashley, Martha Jackson, Lavoice Smith and Mary Louise Griffin.
He is survived by: his wife Francess Ashley; his daughter Amy Ashley Nichols (Brian Nichols); his grandchildren, Darrell Nichols, III (Chandler), Holden Nichols and Ian Nichols (Breanna); and his great grandchild Reed Nichols. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives.
