He is survived by: his parents, David Stone and Jane Stone; his wife Veronica Stone; his sister Sammie Jo; his parents-in-law, Ricardo and Elisa Maldonado; and his pets, Habanero and Bell Pepper Stone.

DJ was always searching for ways to give back, from volunteering to donating his kidney and inspiring a chain of kidney donations at the age of 23.
