Thompson and Mary Ann McPherson; his grandchildren, Jacqueline Minucci-Zurita, Jessica Thompson, Jeana Thompson, Jackson Thompson and Jordan Thompson Kurth; his great grandchildren, Daniella, Isabella and Luka Zurita; his son Jimmy L. Thompson; his parents, Nina Elizabeth Bristow Thompson and Johnie M. Thompson; his former wife Frances Collier Thompson; and his wife LaVerne L. Gilstrap. He was also cherished by several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
