He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Leonard and Claudia Pearl Clayton (McDowell); his son Eddie Dean Clayton, II; and his sisters, LaDonna Clayton and Lynn Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Clayton (Lincoln) of Van, Leonard Clayton of Clyde, Kevin Clayton (Amy) of Clyde and Debbie Faircloth of Baird; and his siblings, Paul David Clayton of Clyde, Sherilyn Simmons of Baird and Ramona Hurst of Clyde. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
