He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Tymel, Sr. and Lucille Voekel Tymel; his wife Betty Lou Tymel; and his sons, Ronald Frank Tymel, Jr. and Ricky Lynn Tymel.

He is survived by: his daughters, Ronda Tymel-Brice and Renda Meier; and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, John Micheal, Alexa, Matthew, Luke, Sammie, Savannah and Ricky. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
