She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertye Midyett and B. E. Midyett; her husband John Douglas Cockrell; her brother Jack Holland Midyett (Helen); her brothers-in-law, Benjamin Franklin Cockrell and David Elton Cockrell; her sisters, Bertye Bernice Burford (James) and Sarah B. Smith (Robert); and her grandchildren, Chad Reagan Cassity and Caci Cassity.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Bobbie James Cockrell of Bay City; her children, John Cockrell (Tammy) of Lufkin, Mike Cockrell (Lisa) of Carthage, Cindy Cockrell Cassity of Tyler, Susie Cockrell Parker (Jerry Soape) of Carthage and Elise Cockrell Ritter (Bobby) of Carthage; and her grandchildren, Micah Cockrell (Lindsay) of Huffman, Cara Cockrell Bardwell (Blake) of Carthage, Taylor Ritter (Kelli) of Carthage, Bo Ritter (Misty) of Carthage, Keely Ritter O'Briant (Kenneth) of Benton, LA, Paige Elise Parker (Zach Scott) of Austin, Cristyn Cassity of Tyler and Skylar Cockrell of Lufkin. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
