He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Epps; his stepfather Jesse Crenshaw; and his brother Otis Crenshaw (Betty Sue Birchfield). He is survived by: his sons, John Birchfield (Debbie) and Tracy Birchfield (Nova); and his grandchildren, Sean Birchfield, Jessica Birchfield, Carl Birchfield and Joseph Birchfield.
