He was predeceased by: his father Richard Reuben; and his brothers, Charles, James and Donald McAlister. He is survived by: his wife Gail McAlister; his sons, Kevin McAlister (Karen) and Darin McAlister (Darla); his grandchildren, Derek McAlister (Dana), Clint McAlister (Talar), Kendall McCuistion (Andrew) and Kaden McAlister; and his great grandchildren, Demi, Daxton, Dane, Mallory and Lawson McAlister. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
