She was predeceased by: her parents, Juanita Shafer (Marshall) and Leslie William Shafer of Pilot Point, Texas.; her husband Weldon Mitchell; her brothers, Bill Shafer and Jim Shafer; and her daughter Melissa April (Melvin Long).

She is survived by: her children, James Mitchell (Ann), Melanie Hayes (Keith) and Annissa Mitchell (Mark Thompson); her sister Elizabeth Richardson; her grandchildren, Melissa Cox (Matt), Bradley Mitchell, Heather Mitchell, Laurel Warren (Rob) and Ashton Orr (Alex); and her great grandchildren, Kenah Cox, Koy Cox, Aiden Warren, Adyson Warren, Hudson Warren, Holden Warren, Jude Mitchell, Maddox Orr, Sutton Orr and Beckett Orr. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
