It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vickie Jo Gist (Canyon, Texas), who passed away on December 18, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Abbott and Ruby Abbott. She is survived by: her husband John David Gist; her children, Carrie Day (Eddie) of Sundown and Ryan Gist (Kara) of Canyon; her grandchildren, Bryanna, Dylan Day of Sundown, Kaden and Abbott Gist of Canyon; and her sisters, Debbie Madewell (Jim) of Lubbock and Nickie Wood (Tuffy) of Canyon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorials may be sent to the Education Foundation of Canyon ISD, 3301 N. 23rd St., Canyon, TX 79015.
