She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Albert Secrest and Lois Dagenhart Secrest; her husband Charles Norman Kahler; and her sister Nancy Elaine Cox. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Jonathan E. C. Kahler (Caryn) and Jeanne Kahler Schlichting; her grandchildren, William Charles Schlichting, Jonathan Charles Kahler, Joshua Curtis Kahler and Julia Cristyn Kahler; her brother Albert Wayne Secrest (Emma); and her caregiver Mary Fritts. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
