He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Earl M. Colley and Ida Colley (McMillian) of Virginia; his wife Sherry Artz of Cameron; and his children, Sheryl Anne Colley of Cameron, Shannon Renee Colley O'Brien of Cameron, Shelley Marie Colley Posey of Lake Hills and Earl M. "Chip" Colley, IV of Cameron. He was also cherished by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Monica's Catholic Church or to the Diaconiate Program at the Diocese of Austin.
