He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Sollars and Mary Sollars; and his brother Van Allen Sollars. He is survived by: his wife Earldean F. Sollars; his daughters, Tina Carter and Tonya Carter Lopez; his grandchildren, Constance Crochet Bordier, Veronica Carter, Anisa E. Lopez Carter and Pablo M. Lopez Carter; his brother Paul Michael Sollars; and his aunt Anita Mitchell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
