He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Olvera and Ignacia S. Olvera; and his siblings, Alvino Olvera, Refugio Olvera and Raquel Olvera.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria L. Olvera; his children, Alicia Olvera, Alberto Olvera, Jr. (Rosa) and Crystal Olvera; his grandchildren, James Olvera and Victoria Olvera; and his siblings, Benita Torres (Santiago), Arnulfo Olvera (Nicolasa), Nazaria Cortinas (Manuel) of Pasadena, Estella Sanchez (Pedro) of Harlingen, Celia Vera (Juan), Francisco Olvera, Jr. (Maria Elena) and Anita Puente (Jesus) of La Feria, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Darling-Mouser Funeral Home - East Chapel (945 Palm Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78520). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1200 Lincoln St, Brownsville, TX 78521). The military honors was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Buena Vista Burial Park (5 Mc Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521).
