She was predeceased by: her parents, Woody Cowan and Myrtle Cowan (Robinson); her son Jacky Lynn Carpenter; and her siblings, Arrie Gilbert Cowan, Virginia Williams, Ola B. White and Roberta Travis.
She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Loyd Carpenter; her children, Bucky Carpenter (Eddi) of Bridgeport and Jennge Flowers of Paradise; her grandsons, Jason Carpenter (Loren) of Grapevine and Jamey Carpenter of Runaway Bay; her great grandchildren, Brendan and Maddee; and her sisters, Devern Ward of Tennessee and Birdie Sharp of Tennessee. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
