He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Umland and Minnie Hilke Umland (Lage); and his siblings, Virgil Umland, Leslie Umland and Vernis Booth.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Umland of Bridgeport; his children, Robin Whited (Morrow) of Hurst, Sandra Stone (William Cocks) of South Jamesport and Lutz Braeuer; his grandchildren, Sharon Guddemi (Joe), Billy Cocks and Jay Sutton; and his great grandchildren, William, Caitlyn, Benny, Owen, Erin and Jocelyn.
