He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Elaine Vincent Fells and Dan Fells Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Daniel Chester Fells and DonNiece Fells Mann (Chace Mann) of Bridge City; his grandchildren, Naomi Fells, Taya Fells, Elijah Mann and Isaiah Mann of Bridge City; and his sisters, Rhonda Hudgins of Lumberton and Cheryl Jones (Gaylon Jones) of Bridge City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
