She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Howard and Gertrude Votaw Howard; her former husband Joe; her son John Battle; and her grandson Cecil Anthony Jones (CJ).
She is survived by: her husband Joseph Battle; her daughters, Barbara Ann Ramirez (Roland) of Bridge City and Mary Beth Jones (Tony) of Beaumont; her sister Sally Murphy of Liberty; and her grandchildren, Rusti Girolamo (Troy) of Groves and Curtis Peddy of Beaumont. She is also survived by four great grandsons and two great-great grandsons.
In the last few weeks of her life, Barbara remembered an old song "Bring me Flowers While I'm Living" therefore, in lieu of flowers please make a donations to the Southeast Texas Food Bank, or a food bank near you.
