He was predeceased by: his father J. V. Helms. He is survived by: his mother Ola Helms (Thompson); his children, Bonnie Epp (Theron), Austin Helms (Valentina) and Kris Helms (Amanda); and his siblings, Warren (Donna), Tami Wright (Ronnie) and Rhoda Hewitt (Tony).
